After a night of debauchery (uh, not quite) I settled into bed around 1am...
Alex Mandossian - Fundamentals of Web Traffic Conversion - There were only two times (that I know of) where there were standing ovations for the speakers. Alex was one and certainly deserved it. I was literally floored by the 39 tips he gave on improving your traffic. Everything from using DVD covers to mail your CDs (broken jewel boxes = refunds) to what are the 5 most important words to improve your opt-in list subscriber numbers. (I'll tell you tomorrow). It was a treat to hear him live.
Randy Charach - How to be a Top Internet Infopreneur - Obviously I had a more than passing interest on this talk (we're partners on the JV Network site), so I might be a bit bias, but Randy
always has the audience wanting more. The only embarassing thing is when he mentioned my name, I thought he told me to stand up, (so I did!) but he kept on talking about something else...Oh well, we added almost 100 new members which was fantastic.
Fred Gleeck and Bob Silber - Unfortunately I spent most of the time during their talk going over some notes with Randy as well as networking like a madman. Again I heard they were great.
I was really impressed by the caliber of attendees, as there were actually few newbies, but many accomplished marketers. If you'll allow me to name drop, I got to meet for the first time: Holly Cotter, Jeff Mulligan, Ken McCarthy, Dion Jones, Alexandra Brown... and a whole host of other great folks who are doing extremely well on the internet.
Frank Garon - How to Maximize Your Newsletter Profits Through Interactive List Building - As mentioned previously, Frank was one of the few speakers I really wanted to meet. He talks just like he does in his Planetgram ezine. Just one of the good guys on the net. I got him to talk about our mutual love for the jazz chanteuses.
Carl Galletti - Copywriting for the Internet - I kept going in and out on this one, as the lecture was similar to his talk in Vegas. Nonetheless Carl's was the only speaker that I was compelled to buy his products at the end of the talk. I'm the world's worst copywriter but I am continuing to learn, and what better way to learn than from one of the copywriting geniuses. He had a DVD set on copywriting but they sold out before I reached the table.
Dinner I had to skip out on, as my family came into town. Got to love family, but the prime rib that Armand's was giving the attendees for free upstairs, I ended up paying for downstairs! It was worth it as I got to see my niece for only the second time in her six month existence on this Earth.
Upstairs, Armand gave an Awards ceremony for the affiliate who sold the most Audio Generator subscriptions.... Alex Mandossian edged the NitroMarketing crew and received a check somewhere in the neighborhood of $15,000!
The Evening Festivities drew to a close with some fun and frolicing. They had a hypnotist (who I believed was also an attendee) and made some of the crowd do some crazy stuff like lipsync to Elvis and Cyndi Lauper.
